What the EMI Calculator Android application collects, why, where it is stored, who it is shared with, and the choices available to you. Written to meet Google Play's User Data and Financial Services requirements.
The short version
- EMI Calculator is an arithmetic tool. It has no accounts, no login and no loan application form.
- Loan amounts, incomes, deposits and saved calculations are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to us.
- We do not ask for your name, national ID, bank account, card details or salary documents.
- We do not sell, rent or broker your data, and we do not pass your details to lenders.
- Optional Firebase services may collect anonymised crash and usage data — never the figures you typed.
- Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored on your device.
1. Who we are
EMI Calculator ("the app", "we", "us") is developed and published by Apps Bean Technologies, a software and ICT solution company based in Bangladesh. For the purposes of data protection law, Apps Bean Technologies is the data controller for the limited personal information processed through the app.
Contact address: Haji Zillur Rahman Super Market, 2nd Floor, Rajabari Bazar, Sreepur, Gazipur, Bangladesh. Email: info@appsbean.com. Website: appsbean.com.
2. What this app is and is not
Because the app deals with loan and savings figures, it is worth being unambiguous about its nature before discussing data.
EMI Calculator is: a standalone calculator that applies published financial formulas to numbers you type in, and displays the result.
EMI Calculator is not:
- A lender, bank, non-bank financial institution or credit provider.
- A loan marketplace, aggregator, broker or lead-generation service.
- A deposit-taking, investment, brokerage or money-transfer service.
- A credit-scoring or credit-reporting service.
- A provider of financial, investment, tax or legal advice.
The app does not disburse money, accept money, hold funds, or connect you to anyone who does. It has no loan application form, and no mechanism by which your details could be forwarded to a financial institution.
3. Scope of this policy
This policy applies to the Android application distributed on Google Play under the package name com.appsbean.emicalculator, and to this marketing website. It does not apply to other apps published by Apps Bean Technologies, or to third-party websites and applications you reach through links or share actions.
By installing or using the app you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not install or continue using the app.
4. Information we collect
4.1 Information you enter, stored on your device
Content you create stays on your phone. This includes:
- Loan amounts, interest rates and tenures entered into the EMI calculator.
- Monthly deposit amounts, profit rates and terms entered into the DPS calculator.
- Contribution amounts, expected return rates and horizons entered into the SIP calculator.
- Deposit amounts, rates, terms and compounding choices entered into the FDR calculator.
- Net monthly income, existing obligations, proposed instalments and ceiling percentages entered into the DBR calculator.
- Source tax percentages you enter.
- Calculations you choose to save, together with any label you give them.
- App preferences such as theme, currency symbol and number-grouping format.
All of this is written to the app's private local storage on your device. It is not transmitted to our servers, and we have no ability to read it remotely.
4.2 Diagnostic and usage information
The app integrates Google Firebase services for stability and product improvement. Where these are active, the following may be collected in aggregated or pseudonymous form:
- Crash reports, including stack traces, the screen in use when a crash occurred, and device memory and storage state (Firebase Crashlytics).
- Application events such as app opens, screen views, session length and which calculator was used (Google Analytics for Firebase).
- Device and technical attributes such as device model, operating system version, language, country, screen size, app version and a resettable app instance identifier.
These reports describe how the app behaves, not what you calculated. See section 5.
4.3 Information from Google Play
Google provides us with aggregated statistics such as install and uninstall counts, country breakdowns, ratings and reviews. Reviews you write on Google Play are public and are governed by Google's own terms and privacy policy.
5. Your financial figures, specifically
The numbers you enter are potentially sensitive — an income figure, an existing debt load, a deposit balance. We treat them accordingly, and we want to be precise about what happens to them.
- Never transmitted. No calculator input is sent to Apps Bean Technologies or to any third party.
- Never in analytics. Analytics events record that a calculator screen was opened, not the values on it. No amount, rate, tenure or income figure is attached to any event.
- Never in crash reports. Crash payloads carry technical state, not field contents.
- Never sold or brokered. We do not pass income or debt information to lenders, insurers, marketers or data brokers. There is no arrangement under which we could.
- Never used for profiling. We do not build a financial profile of you, score you, or make any automated decision about you.
- Under your control. Clear individual saved calculations, clear all app data, or uninstall.
If you share a result image, the numbers in that image are visible to whoever receives it — that is the point of sharing. Once sent, it is governed by the app you sent it through.
6. What we do not collect
- No account, email address or password — there is no sign-up.
- No name, national identity number, passport number, TIN or date of birth.
- No bank account numbers, card numbers, cheque details or mobile wallet identifiers.
- No salary slips, tax returns, bank statements or supporting documents.
- No contact list, call logs, SMS messages or calendar entries. In particular, the app does not read SMS to detect transactions.
- No location data, precise or approximate.
- No photos, camera access or microphone access.
- No installed-application list.
- No biometric or health information.
7. Device permissions
The app requests very little, because it needs very little. Permissions are requested only when a feature needs them.
| Permission | Why it is needed | Optional? |
|---|---|---|
| INTERNET | To send optional diagnostic reports. Every calculation works without it. | No |
| ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE | To check connectivity before attempting a diagnostic upload, so the app does not waste battery retrying. | No |
| POST_NOTIFICATIONS | Only if you enable an optional reminder or service notice. Declining costs you nothing else. | Yes |
| WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (legacy Android only) | To save a shared result image to your gallery when you tap Share. Not requested on modern Android versions, which use the system share sheet instead. | Yes |
The app requests no permission for contacts, SMS, call logs, location, camera, microphone or the installed-app list. Review and revoke what is granted at any time in Android Settings → Apps → EMI Calculator → Permissions.
8. Why we process information
- To perform the calculations you request and display the results.
- To store calculations you explicitly choose to save.
- To remember your display and formatting preferences between sessions.
- To detect, diagnose and fix crashes and defects.
- To understand which calculators are used so we can prioritise improvements.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
9. Legal bases for processing
Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, we rely on:
- Performance of a contract — providing the calculator features you asked for.
- Consent — notification permission and optional analytics, withdrawable at any time.
- Legitimate interests — keeping the app stable and secure, balanced against your rights and freedoms.
- Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose information to comply with applicable law.
10. Third-party services
The app relies on a small number of Google services, each with its own privacy documentation.
- Google Analytics for Firebase — anonymous usage and event measurement.
- Firebase Crashlytics — crash and stability reporting.
- Google Play services and Google Play Console — distribution, updates, install statistics and reviews.
See the Google Privacy Policy and Firebase Privacy and Security documentation. We do not integrate social network SDKs, attribution networks, credit bureaus, lending partners or data brokers.
11. Advertising
The current release displays no third-party advertising and uses no advertising identifier for behavioural targeting. We do not show loan offers, lender promotions or affiliate financial products. If advertising is introduced in a future version, this policy will be updated before that version is published, the Google Play Data safety declaration will be amended, and any consent required in your region will be requested in the app.
12. Sharing and disclosure
- Service providers. Google, for the analytics, crash reporting and distribution services listed above, acting on our instructions.
- At your direction. When you tap Share, the result image or text is passed to the app you choose.
- Legal requirements. Where disclosure is required by law, regulation, court order or a valid request from a public authority.
- Protection of rights. Where necessary to investigate fraud, security incidents or violations of our terms.
- Business transfer. If Apps Bean Technologies is involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, information may transfer to the successor entity, which will remain bound by this policy or give notice of any change.
We do not sell personal information, do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and do not supply it to lenders or financial intermediaries under any commercial arrangement.
13. International data transfers
Apps Bean Technologies operates from Bangladesh. Diagnostic data processed by Google Firebase may be stored and processed on servers in the United States, the European Union or other countries where Google operates infrastructure, subject to safeguards including Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission. Your calculator inputs are not transferred internationally because they never leave your device.
14. Retention and deletion
- Local content. Saved calculations and preferences remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. There is no server copy for us to delete.
- Crash reports. Retained by Firebase Crashlytics for up to 90 days, per Google's default.
- Analytics events. Retained for a maximum of 14 months in aggregated form.
- Support correspondence. Emails you send us are kept for up to 24 months so we can follow up, then deleted.
How to delete your data
- Delete individual saved calculations inside the app.
- Use the clear-all option in the app's Data & privacy screen.
- Clear everything at once via Android Settings → Apps → EMI Calculator → Storage → Clear data.
- Uninstall the app to remove all locally stored information.
- To request deletion of diagnostic data associated with your app instance, email info@appsbean.com with your device model and approximate installation date. We respond within 30 days.
15. Security
Calculator content is kept in the app's private storage area rather than shared external storage, network traffic to Firebase uses TLS encryption, the release build is minified and obfuscated, and dependencies are kept updated to address known vulnerabilities. Because the app holds no credentials and transmits no financial figures, the attack surface is deliberately small.
No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Use a screen lock, keep Android updated, and install the app only from Google Play — financial calculators are a common target for imitation. Verify the package name com.appsbean.emicalculator and the developer name Apps Bean Technologies before installing. Report security issues privately to info@appsbean.com before disclosing them publicly.
16. Children's privacy
EMI Calculator is a general-audience financial utility intended for adults, and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Students may legitimately use the app to learn how compound interest and amortisation work; in that case no personal information is involved, because the app collects none. If you believe a child has provided information that reached us, contact info@appsbean.com and we will delete it promptly.
17. Your rights and choices
- Access — everything the app holds is visible inside the app itself.
- Correction — edit or re-enter any saved calculation.
- Deletion — remove items, clear app data, or uninstall.
- Withdraw consent — revoke notification permission in Android settings at any time.
- Object or restrict — contact us to object to diagnostic processing based on legitimate interests.
- Portability — where technically applicable, request a copy of data we hold in a structured format.
- Complain — lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
We do not charge for exercising these rights and do not discriminate against users who do.
18. Additional information for the EEA and the UK
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the rights in section 17 are statutory rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR. Requests to info@appsbean.com are answered within one month, extendable by two further months for complex requests, with notice to you. We carry out no automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects — in particular, the app makes no lending decision and produces no credit assessment.
19. Additional information for California residents
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of sale or sharing. Apps Bean Technologies does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA, and has not done so in the preceding twelve months. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information — including financial information — for purposes beyond those permitted by the CCPA. Requests may be submitted to info@appsbean.com.
20. Google Play data safety disclosures
The Data safety section of our Google Play listing is completed to match this policy. In summary:
- Data collected: app diagnostics (crash logs, performance) and app interaction events for analytics.
- Financial info collected: none. Amounts you enter are processed on device and are not collected.
- Personal info collected: none. No name, email, ID or contact details are requested.
- Data shared with third parties: the diagnostic and analytics data above, with Google as our processor. Nothing else.
- Encryption in transit: yes, for all network traffic.
- Data deletion request: available by email, and by clearing app data or uninstalling.
- Independent security review: not yet conducted.
21. Google Play Financial Services policy
Google Play applies additional requirements to apps in the financial category. For the avoidance of doubt, and to support review of this listing:
- The app does not offer, arrange, broker or facilitate personal loans, and is not a personal loan app within the meaning of that policy.
- The app does not collect or transmit any data listed as restricted for personal loan apps — no contacts, no photos, no SMS, no call logs, no external storage scanning, no precise location.
- The app charges no fees, interest, penalties or subscriptions, and processes no payments.
- The app does not accept deposits, hold client funds, or provide investment or brokerage services.
- The app makes no representation about approval, eligibility or the terms any institution will offer.
- All figures are user-supplied estimates, and the app states this on screen alongside results.
Where local law requires licensing or registration to provide financial services, EMI Calculator does not carry out any activity requiring such a licence.
22. Accuracy and use disclaimer
EMI Calculator applies standard published formulas — reducing-balance amortisation, future value of an annuity, and compound interest — to the values you supply. Results are indicative estimates for planning and comparison only.
Actual figures quoted by a bank or financial institution may differ because of processing fees, documentation and legal charges, insurance premiums, the disbursement date, day-count conventions, whether the rate is fixed or floating, moratorium periods, penalty clauses, and each institution's own rounding rules. Savings and deposit products vary in compounding frequency, crediting schedule, premature encashment penalties and applicable tax rates. Investment projections are assumptions, not forecasts: real returns fluctuate and can be negative.
Nothing in the app or on this website constitutes financial, investment, tax or legal advice, or a recommendation of any product, scheme or institution. Always verify figures against your sanction letter, scheme brochure or deposit receipt, and consult a qualified professional before making a financial commitment. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apps Bean Technologies accepts no liability for losses arising from reliance on the app's output.
23. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect new features, technical changes or legal requirements. The effective date at the top of the page always shows when it last changed. Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect, and where required we will ask for your consent again. Continuing to use the app after an update indicates acceptance of the revised policy. Previous versions are available on request.
